Q: How can you reprint all those copyrighted pictures on this site?
A: All yearbook photos were reprinted with the permission of Portage High School.  Certain aerial photos were reprinted with the permission of living representatives of John Todd's Aerial Photography of Portage, MI.  Additional aerial photos were reprinted with the permission of the Portage Public Library, and are part of the archived John Todd Collection.  Music is copyright of the artist and their respective label.  It is legal to play music on the internet, but illegal to make it available for download.  Music on this site is purely for nostalgia and listening purposes.  Downloading is expressly forbidden and a violation of applicable copyright laws.  Credit is duly given to all artists and musicians for their work.  This site was constructed at no charge and is maintained for free.  It is not-for-profit or reward.

Q: How did this site come to exist?
A: This site was conceived and designed in October 2010 by your Webmaster, Jeff Carew.  It was constructed over a two-month period with a public launch on December 6, 2010.  It was created at no charge and is maintained and updated weekly for free by the same.  Although the design is free, web hosting costs money.  Please consider making a donation.  Please note that the site has been going since 2011.

Q: How many visitors have there been?
A: As of the 50th reunion (August 1, 2014), there were approximately 10,000 visits!

Q: When will the site go offline?
A: The site domain name (portageclassof64.com) and the web hosting (GoDaddy) are both prepaid until July 14, 2019.  At that time, the site will go offline and all content will be deleted.  PLEASE NOTE THAT AS OF JULY 2014, NO FURTHER DONATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED.

Q: What are the lyrics to OUR school song?
A: "Onward Portage, ever onward fight to victory.  Blue and Gold forever fighting here's our cheer to thee.  RAH RAH RAH.  Fighting Mustangs, loyal booster here's to do or die.  All for the fame of our school Portage High.  RAH RAH, SIS BOOM BAH!  Portage High School RAH RAH RAH!"

Q: What are the lyrics to the school song today?
A: The lyrics are identical, except for the insertion of the word 'Central' in the last sentence.  The lyrics are: "Onward Portage, ever onward fight to victory.  Blue and Gold forever fighting here's our cheer to thee.  RAH RAH RAH.  Fighting Mustangs, loyal booster here's to do or die.  All for the fame of our school Portage High.  RAH RAH, SIS BOOM BAH!  Portage Central RAH RAH RAH!"

Q: What was our class motto?
A: "We are the best and even more.  We are the Class of '64!"
